Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has called on governors to set aside of land for construction of dams in counties.
According to Wamalwa, food sufficiency is part of the government big four agenda and it involves construction of one mega dam in all the 47 counties.
Speaking Samburu North Sub County, Wamalwa said that construction of these dams will cost the government over Sh 30 billion.
He noted that construction has already begun in some counties.
“The government has started construction in some counties such as Sio Murun dam in Pokot which will cost Sh 9 billion, Badasa dam in Marsabit County as well as the Isiolo dam to help in the collection of excess rain water.” He said.
