Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has said those foreigners who will be found in the country illegally and engaging in illicit trade will be deported immediately.
Matiang’i said foreigners being in the country illegally are a security threat and Kenyans should not help the foreigners to hide in villages and towns.
“The government is committed to ensure illicit trade being conducted by foreigners comes to an end. Foreigners who will be found setting up illegal businesses such as gambling will be brought to Nairobi and be deported immediately,” he said.
The Cabinet Secretary warned Chinese people against setting up gambling businesses across the country saying the government will not condone their stay in the country.
He said members of the public must step up efforts in the fight against illicit trade.
“Poisonous sugar, gambling is among the businesses that Kenyans need to fight. Cartels engaging in illegal dealings must be reported to authorities for legal actions to be taken immediately,” he added.
Matiang’i assured that he will traverse across the country to ensure no illegal business is set up meant to spoil the future of Kenyan youths.
