The government will provide more relief food to hunger stricken people following prolonged drought in arid areas, Foreign affairs Cs Amina Mohamed has said.
Ms. Amina speaking on Thursday when she launched the Inua Jamii programme in Isiolo town also said more dams would be dug and water trucking done to ease the drought effects.
She drummed up support for president Uhuru Kenyatta saying that Jubilee administration is committed to uplift the lives of the people from Northern Kenya.
Amina assured pastoral communities that more funds have been allocated to address drought.
She urged the pastoral communities to vote for Jubilee for the sake of peace and development adding that the government has initiated projects that ought to be completed only if Jubilee is voted in for a second term in office.
She pointed out that several schools had electricity connected and more to village levels at low costs unlike in the previous governments.
"Jubilee administration has shown concern for the elderly by providing National Hospital Insurance Fund cards so that they can get free treatment at both public and private hospitals", she said as quoted by KNA.
She challenged the youth and women to take loans from Uwezo and Women enterprise funds to start small businesses to help eradicate poverty.
