Addressing residents on Wednesday during the launch of the seventh edition of the Water and Sewage Company games, Wamalwa said the national government has set aside enough money for the resettlement of Mwache residents, to pave way for the construction of a dam in the area.

“The national government has plans to develop water and irrigation infrastructure at the Coast. We will soon be launching more water projects at the coast as we earlier did this year when the president launched the Baricho water project,” said Wamalwa as quoted by Baraka Fm.

The CS said the launch of the Baricho water project that has three boreholes will provide Mombasa County with approximately 110 cubic meters of water per day, compared to the 90,000 cubic meters pumped daily.

“The president will soon be coming to Mombasa to launch the Mukanda dam which is all the way to Lungalunga in Kwale County,” said Wamalwa.

The CS also noted that the government will partner with the World Bank to launch the Mwache dam in Kwale County.
