President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that his government will provide 100, 000 paid internship for new student graduates every year from 2018.

The graduates, according to the plan, will be absorbed by the government and the private sector for a period of 12 to 18 months.

The Head of State made the revelations during his campaign rally in Meru on Friday.

He said more details about the project will be included in the party's manifesto set to be launched on Monday.

“Starting next year university, polytechnic and technical training institutes’ students will be offered one year-long paid internships, this will also end cases in which graduates are denied jobs on account of lacking experience,” President Kenyatta said.
