The national government through the ministry of water and irrigation is set to build a dam in Kisii.
This statement is according to water and irrigation Cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa when he visited Kisii county.
"The government is set to construct a dam here in Kisii by the end of this year in order to help our people have enough water to help them do farming without fear of drought," said Wamalwa.
Wamalwa was speaking at Kioge SDA during a fund drive. Kisii county has no dam built by the government but individual have their own that they use for fish farming.
He also encouraged the residents to harvest water during this rain seasons so that they can use it during the dry spell.
"My good people harvest and store water for use during dry seasons, you are privileged to be here where you have rains every time please make use of it, by harvesting and storing it," he added.
The CS was accompanied by Nairobi senator Mike Sonko and many other Kisii county leaders were in attendance.
