The government is set to roll-out a programme under which it will build innovations hubs across the 290 constituencies.
ICT Principal Secretary Victor Kyalo said the government has allocated Sh400 million toward the project’s implementation.According to the PS, the ICT centres will offer youth a chance to explore online job opportunities particularly writing and software development.“There are many jobs today online which Kenyans can do at their comfort at home,” Kyalo said during an interview with a local radio station.“As a ministry we have discovered that it is no longer a must for one to wake up every day, go to an office and work. With a computer and internet one can work anywhere.”He said one of the offers that the online industry provides in jobs is writing.“It all depends with discipline and rating. If you are skilled and can execute responsibilities with the highest standards and within the given timelines, you can earn money while seated at home.”The centres, he said will be fitted with modern computers and internet. The ministry is currently conducting trainings across the country to equip youth with ICT skills that will enable them venture into self-employment.
