The government has decided to divert Sh500 million mearnt for other projects to the notorious Salgaa stretch as it focuses on ending road carnage along the area.

Roads Principal Secretary John Mosonik said the government will put up a Sh500 million dual carriageway.

Molo MP Kuria Kimani has also confirmed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured of the construction.

 The Roads PS on Wednesday said the ministry is committed to contain the situation along the stretch.

"We will have to divert the Sh500 million meant for other projects for construction of a dual carriageway to minimise the number of accidents at the deadly spot," he said.

Mosonik also said the Kenya Highway Authority will erect speed bumps along the area.
