Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (Kuccps) has released the list of students to join private universities on government sponsorship.

Speaking on Friday during the official release of the names, Kuccps Chief Executive Officer John Muraguri said that 12,096 students have been drafted to join these universities by September 19.

The number has 6,755 male 5,341 are female students.

Muraguri further hailed private universities for their positive gesture in absorbing the students and revealed that the government would work with them to see that they are funded as planned.

The government is set to spend a total of Sh700 million on the students joining the private institutions.
