The government will from next Wednesday start supplying free textbooks to secondary schools in Kisii.
According to Kisii county director of education William Sugut, Kisii High, Nyabururu Girls National School and Getembe primary school will be centers for principals to collect the books.
“Each student joining form one in all the schools across the county will get 6 textbooks while primary school pupils will be given 4 books,” said Sugut.
Sugut assured that no public school will be left out in the program.
“This is a government program targeting all public schools both primary and secondary. Teachers should help in the issuing of books for every student and pupil to benefit,” he said.
He called on teachers across the county to support fully the new education curriculum system.
“Teachers must be part of the changes in the education sector the government has started,” he added.
