The national government through the Ministry of Health (MOH) will donate equipment worth millions to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in a move to improve service delivery.
MTRH CEO Wilson Aruasa said the equipment will be supplied from January 2018.
“The Managed Equipment Service (MES) under the Ministry of Health will be supplying MTRH with 6 ICU units, 3 HDU units,5 Hemodialysis units for Renal, Several Theatre instruments and Autoclaves. The works and equipment are worth millions of shillings though the exact figure has not yet been revealed,” he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.
“These will make MTRH a Multi-Specialty Level 6 Hospital that will render quality healthcare services and achieve Universal Health Coverage as required by Government of Kenya,” he added.
He reiterated that at the moment the hospital is carrying out renovations to their facilities before the equipment are supplied come January 2018.
Aruasa further said that the groundbreaking ceremony for the multi-billion new MTRH hospital will be done in January 2018.
