The government has plans to provide water in all public schools in the country in a bid to improve sanitation, Water Cs Eugene Wamalwa has said.
Speaking while launching the sinking of a borehole at Shimo la Tewa primary school in Kitale over the weekend, Wamalwa said the Egyptian government has donated Sh500 million to help the government accomplish the water provision plans.
“The money will be used to sink boreholes in public primary and secondary schools in western and parts of North Rift,” he said as reported by KNA.
The Cs affirmed that the plan will help all public schools to have a constant supply of water in the coming 5 years.
He added that Jubilee government is committed to ensuring education in the country grows.
He drummed up support for the re-election of president Uhuru Kenyatta adding that Jubilee government scrapped examination fee in both primary and secondary schools as one of the efforts towards leveling grounds of education for all Kenyans.
“Gone are the days when pupils and students would fail to sit their examination because of lack of examination fee as the government also intends to offer free secondary education,” he said.
