The County Government of Nakuru has announced extension of vaccination of livestock against various diseases to Subukia sub-county as from next week.

Agriculture CEC Dr. Immaculate Maina made the announcement on Wednesday while noting that the vaccination campaign against foot and mouth disease in Rongai Sub County has been successful.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui is expected to launch the campaign in Wei Subukia next week.

“The move is in line with county government of Nakuru’s commitment to making the county a disease free zone," said Maina.

The CEC called  on farmers to come out in large numbers to have their animals vaccinated adding that the pneumonia among goats and sheep has been a major challenge hence need to have them vaccinated.
