Former Subukia MCA Peter Njoroge Mwanjo has called on the national government to relocate the families that were affected by the Solai Dam tragedy.
Speaking in the area on Sunday, Mwanjo said the government should repossess the land and give families a new land where they can start their lives.
“I want to call on the county government of Nakuru and the national government to see on how it can posses the land area and have the affected families moved somewhere else for resettlement,” he said.
He also called on the county government of Nakuru to inspect other dams including the Subukia Valley Dam which he says is in a bad state that might also lead to a tragedy.
“We have a dam called Subukia Valley dam which I have visited and can report that the dam has cracks and if not attended to it might lead to another tragedy. I call on the government to inspect the same before it is late,” he said.
