The national government has been hailed for investing heavily in equipping Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
Recently the Eldoret National Polytechnic received sh172 million worth of equipment for the mechanical engineering department from the government.
This is in what the institution's Chief Principle Josphat Sawe said will help ensure students get quality education and skills required in today's job market.
Speaking to the press at the institution on Monday, Sawe said with the availability of modern equipment they are working towards producing the best workforce in the country."When it comes to imparting competency, skills and knowledge to our students we are good at that and we want to thank the government for giving us mechanical engineering equipment that will improve on the quality of our education," said Mr. Sawe.
"We are now upgrading our equipment as we seek to train people who can be job creators and steer this country towards achieving vision 2030," he added.
Eldoret National Polytechnic is among the leading TVET institution in the country and has close to 8,000 students studying various technical courses.
