Isiolo county Woman Rep Rehema Dida has called upon the government to arrest and charge National Super Alliance(NASA) leader Raila Odinga with treason following his swearing in as the People’s president on Tuesday.
Speaking to the press on Friday, she said that the country has only one democratically elected president that is Uhuru Kenyatta and any one purporting to be the head of State should be dealt with in full force of the law.
She said that the Constitution is clear on guidelines set for one to ascend to the office of the president and that is illegal for any individual to try to sabotage the existing government.
“The President is the head of State and the Commander of the armed forces. Anybody purporting to be any other president is breaking the law. It is treason and by now,he should be in prison,” she said.
Dida said she is concerned with the matter on why Raila has not been dealt with accordance to the law, saying that the presidency should be highly respected by everyone.
Her sentiments comes hours after lwayer Miguna Miguna was arrested today in the morning for administering an illegal oath and being a member of the outlawed National Resistance Movement(NRM).
On Wednesday this week, the government through the Ministry of Interior gazetted the NRM as an outlawed group , warning anyone against involving in him/herself in its operations.
