National government through the Ministry of Education has been urged to close down mushrooming private primary and secondary schools which have not been registered.
The National Parents Association Chairman Nicholas Maiyo said most of them are money oriented and offer poor services to students.
“I want to call upon the Ministry of Education to investigate such school as students learn and at the end of their 8 or four years, they don’t sit for their final examinations. This is a waste of time and resources for both the parent and the student,” he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
“It sad that most private schools have not been registered yet the government is saying nothing about it. The Ministry of Education should audit all private to see if they have complied with the registration requirements to prevent parents from being siphoned money oriented schools,” he added.
He, however, called upon parents to check out if the school they want to enroll their sons or daughter has been registered before enrolling them.
