Students Council is paramount in school’s management and the government should ensure that each secondary school has a council.
Stella Muluvi, a Principal at Kivumbini Secondary School in Kivumbini Ward, Nakuru said this will enable good governance and address various challenges amicably.
Addressing media on Monday afternoon at the Kivumbini Secondary during the school’s first Students Council elections, she said all schools should emulate the same.
“I would like to call upon the government through the Ministry of Education to ensure that these councils are in place as it helps a lot in terms of governance. It will also help in addressing the students’ challenges amicably, ”said Muluvi.
She said this is also a good way of teaching the students that they have democratic rights of not only choosing their students’ council leaders but also the national political leaders.
