Gure says that security has to be tighten as the country prepares for next month general election.

The Garissa Woman Rep notes that criminal and terror agents might take advantage of the election period to stage attacks.

“I am appealing to the national government to boost security surveillance and guarantee Kenyans safety before, during and after the general election,’’ she said.

The MP noted that recent attacks reported in Garissa and neighboring counties has caused fear among locals.

Gure at the same time urged residents to reject politicians perpetuating divisive politics. She appealed to aspirants eyeing various eats to preach unity in their campaigns.

Gure is seeking re-election on Wiper ticket but faces stiff competition in her bid.

Annab Subow, Ebla Sahal, Fatuma Kinsi, Amina Keinan and Maryan Sheikh are eyeing Gure’s seat. Subow is contesting on Jubilee paty ticket, Sahal on Amani National Congress Party (ANC), Kinsi is vying on ODM ticket, Keinan on Kanu ticket and Sheik on Thirdsway Alliance party.

The rivals claim that Gure has not performed and must be voted out on August 8.
