The National government has been requested to allocate more funds to support education and training for children with special needs in KisiI County.
Mr Francis Obaigwa the Kenya Society for Deaf Children Coordinator said that most of the schools accommodating children with special needs lack equipment and also face acute shortage of teaching personnel.
"It is a pity that most politicians are working towards increasing their salaries and they completely forget this people living with disabilities," he said.
Mr Obaigwa challenged politicians to champion for the rights of such children.
He also said that his office will liaise with security officers to arrest all parents who were hiding their kids from attending school.
According to him it was against the rights of the children.
"Parents should take such children to school for specialised training," he said.
