“The government should commit itself in resettling the remnants of post chaos victims as a gift of the New Year,” said Eyalai.

He said that there is need for the remaining IDPs to be resettled, to enable them enjoy the rights like the resettled IDPs.

“Those IDPs who have not been resettled have no peace; their normal activities will only be realized after resettlement,” added Eyalai.

Eyalai was speaking on Wednesday at Nakuru town, where he said that the issue of the IDPs remnants should be hastened to enable them have permanent homes.

He also raised concern over the increase of number of conmen purporting to represent the interests of genuine IDPs.

“It has come to our attention that conmen are moving from the remaining IDP camps purporting to be real government representatives fleecing unsuspecting IDPs,” said Eyalai.

Geoffrey Mwaura, an IDP from Kikopey in Gilgil sub-county said they have seen such conmen in the area and urged the government to arrest such people.

“These conmen claims to have been registered by government should be arrested and charged for conning us,” said Mwaura.

Mwaura however urged the IDPs to continue fighting for their rights till they are addressed by the government and resettled.
