The graduates including parents of Kisii said the institutions are charging a high fee to apply and register for courses some amounting up to Sh5,000.

Joel Emojel said he has been forced to abscond registering for his dream course following the high fee charged during registration.

“I took my papers to the cyber and upon completion of registration, I was shocked when I was charged Sh2,500 and Sh500 for the cyber services," said Emojel.

"I had difficulties completing my high school education and here being charged Sh3,000,” she said.

The parents want the fee scrapped off.

“Some institutions are taking advantage of our children, I don’t understand how would someone charge Sh2,500 for registration yet there is nothing more than an ID being issued of which is still being charged with the fees,” said Titus Tumbo.

They now want the government to look into the issue saying some individuals are out there to make money.
