NASA Deputy Presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has accused the government of rigging elections.
According to Musyoka, the government has instructed chiefs and their assistants to purchase ID cards from locals in the larger Ukambani in a bid to rig the elections.
The chiefs have been purchasing the cards at Sh2,000 in the name of ‘helping’ them.
Musyoka further says the targeted group is the elderly, who have been duped into giving their IDs for alleged payments of the elderly funds.
“I can’t prevent the president from asking for votes in Ukambani, but it is a crime to use our chiefs to buy votes,” he declared.
This is not the first time Musyoka has raised the issue, having lamented over the same last month.
The NASA coalition has been pointing an accusing finger at the government, saying they are hell bent in ensureing the elections are rigged in their favour.
Last month, Raila Odinga claimed that the government was using security agencies to rig elections, claims that were rubbished by the government.
With less than 25 days remaining to the elections, the IEBC is on the spot to ensure it delivers a credible election.
