Kisii county Commissioner Samuel Njora has said that the government will not allow brokers and cartels to be involved in paying IDPS.

Njora said some IDPs have claimed that their names are missing from the list while some have been asked to pay money before being considered.

The commissioner noted that there are many cartels using the IDP issue for their selfish gains.

He said measures have been set to ensure that the matter is solved without any interference individuals or politicians.

Njora said that in most cases 90 percent of those claiming to be IDPS are not genuine.

“Some people are pretending to be IDPs who lost their property during 2007/2008 post-election violence but soon we will arrest such criminals for lying to the government," he said.
