The national government has withdrawn Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and Amason Kingi's (Kilifi) security detail.

Governor Joho's Communications Director Richard Chacha, according to the Daily Nation, confirmed all bodyguards attached to the two county chief were on Friday ordered to return to their respective work stations.

Coast ODM leaders are expected to address a press conference with regard to the development.

The bodyguards were withdrawn when Mr Joho was in Ghana attending the inauguration of Ghana's president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.
