Speaking in Kangundo town on Monday, Kangundo youth leader Hesborn Kyalo said 30% of Sh6 billion provided is huge but the youth are not getting what they deserve.

Kyalo said no youth from Kangundo constituency benefited from the tenders recently offered by the Ministry of Education.

He accused the Machakos Government of giving tenders to people who are friendly to the regime but have problems of paying, reason why majority of the youths who own companies don't turn up to get the tenders.

“It's in the public domain that Machakos County Government doesn't pay its contractors, who would dare take such a risk," said Kyalo.

He urged the governments to entrust youths with professional jobs instead of deploying them as menial workers.

Kyalo said he was planning to get a list of youths who own companies in Kangundo constituency so that they fight for the 30% government procurement opportunities set for them constitutionally.

He said it had been greatest challenge as majority of them are ignored when they turn up for the opportunities.
