The government has taken key initiatives to keep Ebola out of the country.
The state has ordered the screening of all travelers coming entering the country following an Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki, entry points like the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Busia and Malaba border points have been put on high alert after the outbreak claimed 17 lives in DRC.
Tthe deadly Ebola virus made a comeback to the continent after the Democratic Republic of Congo declared its presence on Tuesday.
Seventeen people already been reported dead in the north-west town of Bikoro in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kariuki announced Wednesday evening that “as per international health regulations, the country was now conducting routine screening of all travelers at points of entry including JKIA, Busia and Malaba border points.”
At the said entry points the government has confirmed that it has installed Thermal Guns to detect any person with elevated temperatures.
