Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has yet again hit out at his unnamed opponents accusing them of derailing development in the county by engaging in ‘hard’ politics without offering alternatives.

Nyagarama has been facing criticisms from leading gubernatorial contestants among them former Kitutu Masaba MP Walter Nyambati and Mr Charles Mochama. 

Speaking on Wednesday during the launch of the Governor Mashinani initiative in Nyansiongo, Borabu, Nyagarama defended his development record terming it ‘remarkable’ and challenged critics to work hand in hand with him.

“The problem with these people challenging me is that they dwell on non-issues. What they want to see is my government collapsing yet they are not giving alternative solutions. This is our county and our input should always be positive,” he said.

“As Governor, I have tried to streamline things and I believe my record is remarkable. Our infrastructure and agricultural sectors have been improved. Health services in all facilities are above average. It’s sad that some people are busy destabilizing my government yet we should work together as a team,” he added.

He challenged his opponents to share ideas with his government and called for open dialogue for the same of the country’s economy.

“We can’t probably politics all times. Our people are more important than our selfish gains. It’s my wish that we embrace dialogue instead of persisted politicking,” Nyagarama said.
