The Nakuru youth advisor to Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, has urged the national government to freeze the assets of corrupt leaders in the county.
The advisor, Kimani wa Kimani, said this was the only way to ensure that the graft issue was dealt and done away with for good. He added that the government should also consider selling all the wealth owned by corrupt officials.
''The money that they have earned illegally should be distributed to the poor in the country. It's unfortunate that the poor are the ones who are suffering as they have pathetic services in terms of health and medical care,” he added.
The advisor was speaking to the press on Thursday, where he challenged any leader implicated in corruption dealings or scandals, to step down.
''It's unfortunate that they continue serving in office yet they know very well that they are not clean. They are the reason why Nakuru lags behind,” he pointed out.
Kimani stated that top officials in the country, who were involved in corruption, were ruining the reputation Governor Mbugua.
