Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba is angry after street children were ferried and dumped in his county on Wednesday.
Khaemba claimed the children from a neighboring county were packed in a lorry and dumped in Kitale town on the fateful night.
He called on the relevant authorities from the county to pick the children and return them to where they came from.
Khaemba, however, did not disclose the county.
This has really perturbed us, since when did Trans Nzoia become a dumping ground for street families," Khaemba said.
"Those responsible should move with speed and pick 'their' people."
Kitale is one of the largest towns in Western region and boasts of relatively flourishing economy because of its agricultural endowment.
Last year, the Uasin Gishu County Government was accused of ferrying street children from Eldoret town and dumping them in Bungoma town in Bungoma County and Malaba in Busia County.
Both county governments ferried back the street children to Eldoret town.
The Uasin Gishu County Government, then, argued that the rising number of street families in Kenya's fourth largest town was 'unpleasant' especially to the visitors and investors.
Both the national and county governments are presently struggling to finding a lasting solution to the street families problem.
