An aspirant for the post of governor Kisumu has criticised the county government for its laxity in clearing garbage especially at Kachok dump site.
Dr Asaka Nyangara the leadership of the county had failed to ensure the environment in Kisumu is clean.
He said garnage that has piled at the Kachok dumpsite along the Kisumu-Kericho-Nairobi highway was chocking and needed to be cleaned up.
Through his official Twitter ccount, Dr Asaka said: "Albeit at snail speed, totally oblivious of the danger it portends, even more danger in this rainy season. Soon this mountain will become a tourists attraction exemplifying failed indifferent leadership that is at the helm of things in Kisumu county."
Politicians, including Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura, have always called on the county government to relocate the dumpsite or improve its condition for the time being.
Organisations, activists and the public have also raised alarm over the garbage.
