Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has urged NASA supporters to defy their leader Raila Odinga's call to boycott today’s (Thursday) repeat presidential poll.Mvurya said Raila has no power or authority to order his supporters to boycott an election.Addressing journalists at the county offices on Wednesday, Mvurya termed Raila's poll boycott call as unconstitutional. He said that the former Prime Minister (PM) is bitter after failing to clinch the presidency despite contesting for the seat four times."Raila is a bitter man and should take his political frustrations elsewhere and allow Kenyans to exercise their democratic right," said Mvurya.Mvurya said it is too late for Raila to revive his political career, adding that Thursday’s repeat poll will go on as planned. He appealed to residents and Kenyans to come out in large numbers and vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta. The county boss further appealed to Kenyans to maintain peace during the voting exercise.Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday maintained that there will be no election today, adding that NASA has transformed into a National Resistance Movement. He urged his supporters to boycott the polls and ‘hold vigils and prayers away from polling stations or just stay at home’.
