Mandago spoke to the press yesterday in Eldoret town conveying this in light of last week’s Garissa Attacks.

"The security agencies are really failing when it comes to acting on intelligence reports they get. It is reported that there had been information that there was going to be an attack at the Garissa University but nothing was done. If the security agencies would have acted on that report I am very sure that the 147 students who died would not have died,” said Mandago.

He asked that the security agencies to stop the ongoing blame games and come up with a clear strategy on how they were going to prevent future attacks.

"I am ashamed of the ongoing blame games among our security agents. They should stop it and sit down together so that they can come up with a very clear way of how to handle such cases and also how to prevent more attacks. We need them to work together to protect the Kenyans from terrorists,” said Mandago.

The governor also asked the national government to take disciplinary action against parents who did not report their missing children to the authority. He said that most of these children usually ended up joining the groups that terrorized Kenyans.

The governor urged his electorate to be vigilant and to report any suspicious characters to the authorities.

"We should be very vigilant and ensure that we report any unusual behaviour so as to help the police in maintain our security,” said Mandago.
