According to Ojaamong, the health sector is in a crisis due to the ongoing doctors' strike.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Wednesday morning, Ojaamong said the salary hike demand by the doctors was uncalled for since they were constantly absent from work.

"We cannot lie to ourselves. The health sector has collapsed and the situation has been worsened by the doctors' strike. Furthermore, the doctors are striking whereas they do not even work as per the standards required of them," said Ojaamong.

The county boss further noted that only nurses and clinical officers need the pay rise since they are always prsent in hospitals.

According to Ojaamong, the doctors are only busy moving from one hospital to another as well as their personal clinics instead of attending to patients in hospitals they have been assigned to.

"The only people who need a pay rise are nurses and clinical officers. This is because these people work tirelessly for the patients when doctors are moving from one hospital to another and their personal clinics," added Ojaamong.
