Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti has labeled his critics 'rejects' who do not deserve to hold political positions.
According to Awiti who is eyeing a second term in office, his critics 'have nothing to offer' and as such, he should be re-elected because of his good development record.
"I am trusted because of my good development record which I started before the inception of devolution. Those people who want to unseat me must first prove they are worth being elected," Awiti was quoted by the Star while speaking on Friday.
Awiti claimed that those who are salivating for his seat have retired from civil service but with no track record to prove their worth.
The governor added that he is also the right person to tackle the county's problems and that should he be reelected, the county will be in safe hands.
He further asked the residents to collect IDs as the only weapon they can use to send bad leadership home come 2017.
His sentiment was supported by Kasipul Kabondo MP Silvance Osele who asked the residents to vote for leaders who have launched projects.
