West Pokot governor John Lonyangapuo has warned Opposition coalition NASA against swearing in Raila Odinga as president.
In an address to the press on Monday, Lonyangapuo accused NASA of derailing the country from moving forward after a prolonged electioneering period and political uncertainty.
The county chief noted that NASA should accept defeat and move on after boycotting the October 26 presidential repeat polls.
"It will be unconstitutional for the Opposition to swear-in Raila as president since Uhuru won the election. The law is very clear," he said.
"NASA should stop mere threats and follow the constitution. Kenyans are now stuck without adequate services from the government," he added.
On Sunday, a group of NASA politicians led by Siaya Senator James Orengo threatened to swear in Mr Odinga as president should Uhuru Kenyatta take oath of office for a second term.
Uhuru was declared victor in the October polls and is awaiting Supreme Court verdict after petitioners moved to the court to challenge his victory.
