Uasin Gishu County Governor, Jackson Mandago, has cautioned politicians in the county against inciting members of public.
Mandago warned that action will be taken against those who will be found inciting members of public.
The governor raised concerns over what he termed as a move by some politicians to incite the public.
“The law will cut both ways on issues touching incitement, whether you are a politician or local citizen know that inciting the public is against the law,” said Mandago.
Mandago said that the county will not tolerate leaders who are dividing the public on tribal lines.
He said tribalism is a killer disease that should be fought and condemned in the strongest terms possible.
Mandago said that individuals who perpetrate tribalism, corruption and nepotism should be dealt with accordingly.
He said his government will be tough on tribalism and corruption which he said are against Chapter Six of the Kenya Constitution.
Chapter six of Kenya Constitution deals with integrity and accountability issues.
Meanwhile, Mandago has urged county staff to conduct themselves in civilized manner and be role models to the public.
The Governor added that the county is committed to provide quality and efficient services to the locals.
