Photo/ nation.co.keLamu Governor Issa Timamy is the latest politician from the Coast to condemn the recent attack on Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in Mpeketoni.Joho who was leading a group of ODM politicians from the region had toured Lamu in response to President Uhuru Kenyatta's recent tour of the area. However, the rally was disrupted when youth chanting Jubilee slogans pelted the ODM leaders with unripe mangoes and stones.Speaking on Monday, Timamy who was accompanied by Lamu County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri condemned the incident and called for calm and tolerance more so during this campaign period."I am not impressed by what happened last week in Mpeketoni. We won't tolerate any disturbance to peace,” said Kanyiri.The County Commissioner said investigations are underway, adding that those who will be found culpable will be prosecuted.The two leaders further cautioned politicians against making inflammatory statements which incite the public, saying they risk arrest.Kanyiri further directed politicians to get clearance from the police before holding any rallies so that their security is guaranteed.
