Addressing residents during the 55th Madaraka Day celebrations at Nandi Hills Stadium on Friday, Governor Sang said they will pursue the matter legally promising to ensure that no one will be displaced if the boundary was to be reviewed.

"I want to assure all the communities including the Luo community on the border that they would not be displaced," the governor is quoted by The Nation.

"I want to ask Professor Nyong’o (Kisumu governor) to present his petition as well to the National Land Commission because we already have ours. Nandi County has suffered greatly because of this injustice for the past 50 years," he added.

Nandi County is claiming seven key towns presently in Kisumu County. The towns include, Chemelil, Muhoroni, Kibigori, Miwani among others.

Recently, a section of Kisumu County leaders asked governor Sang to stop raising tension along the border through the boundary review petition.

Muhoroni MP James Onyango K’oyoo said Mr Sang should be investigated for his plans to encroach into Kisumu County.

Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir warned that the move may open unresolved cases of various boundary rows across the country.
