Kisii county governor James Ongwae has said the county government will open its new community radio station soon to help in giving information to the residents and the other communications.

According to Ongwae currently, communication has improved worldwide and there is a need for Kisii County to have its own radio station.

Speaking in Gusii stadium on Thursday during the launch of Kisii county edition of kikao kikuu by Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) Ongwae said the county has put measures in place to open the community radio station soon.

“Communication has improved so much and our county government will open the new radio station soon as we move forward in doing more development and I hope residents will get more information about he development among others," said Ongwae.

Ongwae challenged CAK officers who were present during the launch to approve the county in geting the frequency that is so much in needed when starting a radio station

“To start a radio station is not so much expensive less that 5 million someday is having a radio station that is why my government will soon open the radio station and I hope CAK will approve for us soon about the frequency,” added Ongwae.
