Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has been defended over his recent Cabinet reshuffle.
Speaking to journalists in his office on Wednesday, County Secretary Erick Aori said the constitution allows the governor to reshuffle his Cabinet if there is a need for one.
“It is the responsibility of the governor to reshuffle his Cabinet. There is no way the county will fail because of the ministers,” said Aori.
“The governor will be always accountable on the ground when the elections come regarding what he has been doing over his leadership and there is no way he can’t do a reshuffle if he realises there is a need for one,” he added.
His remarks come after a section of county leaders and residents accused the governor of reshuffling his Cabinet five times since 2013.
Aori also urged residents to always embrace changes made in the county and support them to drive development.
