Meru Governor Peter Munya has explained why his government donated Sh2 million towards a miraa lawsuit against the UK government.

According to Munya, the move was to save farmers from the region because miraa was their major source of income.

While appearing before the Senate County Public Accounts Committee on Friday, Munya stated that it was a matter of life and death.
