With just a day to Nyamira ODM primaries, Governor John Nyagarama has dismissed sensational claims that he had ditched ODM party for Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya.
The Nyamira County boss is facing stiff competition from West Mugirango MP James Gesami and Kisii based Dr. John Kumenda.
And on Sunday, Nyagarama accused his opponents of spreading malicious propaganda to sway voters to their favour.
”There are some people spreading desperate propaganda that I have joined Ford Kenya. I am in ODM to stay and we are advocating for free and fair elections,” he said.
“We maintain that only party members should be allowed vote on Tuesday,” added Mr. Nyagarama claiming that officials were planning to use 2013 IEBC register.
Understandably, Ford Kenya party has not fielded a governorship candidate after former Kitutu Masaba MP Mwancha Okioma cut his ties with the party for PDP.
Also in the race are Justice Anasi Onyancha (Wiper), Mr. Walter Nyambati and Charles Mochama of Jubilee Party and Dr. Erneo Nyakiba.
ODM party has already conducted primaries in seven counties and Busia county governorship remains unsolved following alleged irregularities.
