Governor Zachary Okoth Obado has distanced himself from speculations that he masterminded the violence at the Migori Posta grounds on April 3.

According to Obado, his political opponents have dragged his name into the matter with the aim of bringing him down.

The governor also said that soon the ODM leadership will unearth the persons behind the attack since he is a clean man.

"That was the work of my opponents. His supporters started throwing stones at us as soon as we arrived," Obado said, as quoted by the Star.

During the incident, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s body was short at. It is alleged that the rally turned chaotic after it was suspected that Joho wanted to endorse Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and former Rongo MP Ochillo Ayacko( governor) ahead of the August general polls.

The Migori county boss had categorically stated that it was not right for leaders of the opposition to endorse candidates eyeing different elective posts in the upcoming general polls.

"The party leader or any official is free to visit the county as long as they don't come to endorse some people," said the Governor who was elected on a PDP ticket.

The legislator insisted that he is a loyal member of ODM, adding that he has no intentions to defect to any other political outfit soon.

"I am an ODM member. I am here to stay because this is my number one party," he added.
