Kisii county governor James Ongwae has welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta to Gusii land but has assured him that he won’t get any vote from the region as it’s a NASA zone.
Speaking on Tuesday outside the Kisii county assembly the governor said the president was free to visit the area despite the fact he neglected to deliver any of his promises that he had pledged in the last campaign trail.
“We know Uhuru has been in the area for very many times but no development project that has been initiated so far and we have no doubt that NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga is the preferred in the region," he Ongwae.
This comes barely after Uhuru’s allies in the region confirmed that Uhuru will be touring the region on Thursday and he is expected to ensure that the locals reelect him in the upcoming re-run.
Uhuru is expected to tour both Kisii and Nyamira counties respectively to ensure that he intensifies his campaigns to get more votes for Kisii and Nyamira counties respectively.
