Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has openly declared support for the ruling Jubilee Party.
Speaking during a church service at the Redeemed Gospel Church in Buruburu Nairobi Sunday, also attended by Deputy President William Ruto, the county boss who was elected into office through the Wiper Party, led by opposition co-leader Kalonzo Musyoka, faulted the opposition’s upcoming inauguration event.
The National Super Alliance has since announced that the January 30 swearing-in event for its chief Raila Odinga and Musyoka is inevitable, a move that the county chief has distanced himself from.
‘’it’s our responsibility to work with the Jubilee government and I pledge to support it in its development agenda,’’ said Samboja.
‘’Our main task as leaders is to ensure that Kenyans get their deserved development and that cannot be achieved using the route that has been taken by NASA. It cannot be achieved through demonstrations and violence,’’ he added.
His rebellion comes only days after the block vowed to retain sanity in its house and consider punitive measures for those thought to be moles.
In a recent People’s Assembly rally in Kakamega county, the area Senator Cleopas Malala urged the alliance leaders to introduce penalties against members who are considered Jubilee friendly.
