Taita Taveta Governor-elect Granton Samboja has moved to court seeking to block investigations into his academic qualifications.

Samboja, who was elected on a Wiper Party ticket, has asked the court to bar the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) from making any further probe into the matter.Samboja, through his lawyer, has accused the anti-graft body of attempting to forcefully acquire evidence from him.He further argued that EACC has not only unlawfully but also maliciously pushed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to recommend his prosecution, Citizen Digital reports. The newly elected county boss argued that the office of the DPP will be misusing its powers if it recommends further investigations into the matter, considering he was already issued with a clearance certificate by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) commission. Samboja is accused of forging his academic papers which he used to get admission for a masters course at Kenyatta University. The DPP, Attorney General, Inspector General of the National Police Service and EACC have been mentioned as respondents in the case.
