Meru Governor Peter Munya has explained how Deputy President William Ruto is allegedly trying to sabotage him politically.
According to the Council of Governors chair, Ruto is financing his political opponents in Meru in order to unseat him during the next general election.
Munya singled out Senator Kiraitu Murungi, Woman Rep Florence Kajuju and Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi as Ruto's delegation in the area that was working to ensure his political career comes to an end.
"I said that I will contest for the presidency in 2022 which did not go well the DP and is now using people like Murungi, Kajuju and Mithika to sabotage me. I will not be cowed by this because my ambitions are still intact," Munya said.
The governor who was speaking in Maua town on Thursday said that Ruto's plan was to have Murungi vie for the governor's seat, Kajuju for Women Representative position while Linturi will go for the senator's seat under the Kikali outfit.
"A person like Murungi should retire after 35 years in politics. I will personally buy him a TV for him to watch relax at home," Munya added.
Munya is considered as rebel within Jubilee coalition after he declined to join the Jubilee Party (JP) that will be launched in September.
He will instead use the Party of National Unity (PNU) to seek re-election in 2017.
