The traders are appealing to the county government to fulfill the promise made 3 years ago before the next elections.

The traders claim that governor Ongwae had promised to build up shades and enough stalls in the market but to date, nothing has been done and 2017 elections are near the corner.

Speaking at the market this morning, the traders led by Henry Oswago said that the county government has failed them and come 2017 they will support a different candidate who fulfills their needs as traders.

"During the 2013 campaigns, Governor Ongwae promised to construct modernised stalls and good shades for traders in the market but until today nothing has been done by his government. This clearly indicates how our votes have been wasted for the last 3 years and come 2017 we will think otherwise," said Oswago.

“During the rainy seasons as it is now, we are counting huge losses since rain water carries away our products," said Mary Moraa another trader.

"If Governor Ongwae will need us to vote him in 2017, he should fulfill his promise before the next elections. He is busy helping other people whereas his government has forgotten us. I appeal to the county government to construct us good stalls and shades to ease our business operations in the market," remarked James Moruri a trader.

The traders further accused the area Mp Opore for not working hand in hand with the county government to ensure that Bonchari constituency is among the areas that are progressing in terms of development.
