Mombasa politician Suleiman Shahbal has hit out at Governor Hassan Joho over the high rate of unemployment in the county.
Shahbal claimed the governor was traversing the county praising himself over how many jobs he has created, while in real sense most of the youth are languishing in drugs.
Shahbal, who has also declared interest in the Mombasa gubernatorial seat, criticised the manner in which the county government has been giving out jobs.
He claimed that all lucrative jobs were given out to relatives of county officials, while ordinary youth struggle in abject poverty.
“The governor likes calling himself 001 but we are not seeing anything he does that is number 1. While others are developing their counties all he does is fashion,” said Shahbal.
He was addressing private business owners in a Mombasa hotel.
The prominent businessman has now vowed to use his influence to create employment and as well provide funds to youth to start small scale businesses.
